Door Energy Ratings Scheme
BM TRADA identifies the energy performance for the Q-Mark door energy rating scheme.
The Door Energy Rating Scheme provides a method for manufacturers to demonstrate the energy performance of their doors.
The current Building Regulations in England and Wales from June 2023 require most replacement doors to have a U-Value of 1.4W/m2K or less, or compliance through door energy ratings. Refer to current Building Regulations Approved Document ‘L’ for specific requirements.
About the BM TRADA Door Energy Rating Scheme
The Door Energy Rating Scheme provides a method for manufacturers to demonstrate the energy performance of their doors, taking into account heat losses through thermal transmittance (U-Value), air leakage and heat gained from the sun (G-Value or solar gain) and gives an A to G rating.
Most styles of doors are included in the scheme, with various options available for glazing.
Air permeability testing, thermal modelling, U-Value calculations and energy rating calculations can also be provided from our Element laboratory if required.
