Window Energy Rating Scheme
BM TRADA identifies the energy performance for the Q-Mark window energy rating scheme.
The Window Energy Rating Scheme provides a method for manufacturers to demonstrate the energy performance of their windows.
The current Building Regulations in England and Wales from June 2023 require most replacement windows to have a U-Value of 1.4W/m2K or less, or compliance through window energy ratings. Refer to current Building Regulations Approved Document ‘L’ for specific requirements.
About the BM TRADA Window Energy Rating Scheme
The Window Energy Rating Scheme provides a method for manufacturers to demonstrate the energy performance of their windows, taking into account heat losses through thermal transmittance (U-Value), air leakage and heat gained from the sun (G-Value or solar gain) and gives an A to G rating.
Most styles of windows are included in the scheme, with various options available for glazing.
Air permeability testing, thermal modelling, U-Value calculations and energy rating calculations can also be provided from our Element laboratory if required.
